pistorius. qusseir jummy olabanji. >> we are told that when the judge read the murder charge officially out loud, oscar put his hhead in his hands and began sobbing. his family is there supporting him. and some family members and friends of the victim, 30-year- old reeva steenkamp, a model, his girlfriend. she was shot and killed yesterday in his home. he is charged with her murder. more than 100 people are in the courtroom seats right now including dozens of reporters photographers, and camera people, in south africa. we are expected to get more information with the next hour or so.

orleans. >> glad they are back on land. today the d.c. council will look into the d.c. police department handling of sexual assault cases. >> some victims feel they're not getting adequate response from the police department. john gonzalez is live aspat police headquarters. and there's a meeting by the d.c. council later today at a disturbing time. there have been five recent sexual assaults in northeast d.c. currently all five are unsolved. the latest was to stay around this time of morning. the 22-year-old woman was raped at gunpoint in an apartment building on gault place. a human rights watch report claims more than 100 sexual assault reports in the city of not been properly investigated by the d.c. police. on more than half of the cases police report or never filed at the scene. department says there could be

way to becoming mobility service stocks for injured veterans and wounded warriors. they are labradors and rehabs and golden retrievers. the community is involved as volunteer puppy petters. they nurture the puppies and build their brains and give teach them to love and trust human beings. >> once the dogs are trained, what do they go to do? >> the wounded warriors sometimes struggling with posttraumatic stress, we involve them in helping to train the dogs for fellow veterans. it's veterans helping veterans. the dogs help to pull wheelchairs' and turn on lights. the training process is beneficial to the wounded warriors. it's a fantastic program. a brand new puppy in richmond

captioned by the national captioning institute >> this just in. d.c. police are looking for a man accused of stabbing a woman just before 4:00 a.m. in the 1100 block of north capitol street in northwest. the woman was conscious and breathing at the scene. no word on what led to the stabbing. >> prince george's county police investigating a shooting in suitland which happened just before 4:00 this morning in the 56oo block of suitland road. we don't know the condition of the victim or police have made an arrest. it's the illinois state senate has voted to legalize same-sex marriage. now the bill moves to the house. if it passes, eleanor will become the 10th state plus the district to allow same-sex couples to wed. -- illinois will become the 10th state. the governor says he will prove it.

in a satellite center. >> a lot of emotion in mobile alabama. the passengers were trapped in what some describe as a floating jail for days. finally got off the ship early this morning. adding insult to injury, the boats pulled into the dock last night late, but it took several more hours for people to get on land. passengers described wretched conditions after a fire sunday cut off the electrical system and left the ship adrift. this person is happy to be on rant where she was reunited with her father -- on land. gregory picked me up and hug me and i started crying. it was so good to see them after being on the boat for that long and not knowing when or how we were getting back. -- >> my dad picked me up and hugged me.
